She learned some new poses from her cousins!

My snaggle-tooth seven year old....oh how I love him!

BEAUTIFUL BLUEBONNETS EVERYWHERE! It is just breathtaking this year....You've got to spend time with the wildflowers before they disappear.

My nephew Barrett broke his school record in pole-vaulting! I got to watch him practice one day and found out how difficult of a sport this is.

We had a blast with our cousins from Ohio on Easter!!! We wished somehow they could live closer...

Here is Cashtyn being such a good girl in church.

Keaton made his First Communion. I was so proud of him. I couldn't hold back the tears. It was an emotional mass. A priest from New York was a guest in the church that day and he took us on a roller coaster ride of emotions that day. You were laughing through your tears! Everything seemed extra special that day.

You gotta love this crazy girl!

Kolton wrote this poem today!

Money

You know everyone likes money,

But I'm rich,
Oh yes, I'm rich,
Oh! But I just realized
That I have just one penny.

Some days....well....can get pretty muddy....especially if your name is Kolton. It had been raining for several days. Finally the sun shined down on us and I sent everyone outside to play and next thing I see is Kolton wallowing in the mud! The other three were standing around him as if saying to themselves, "Hmmm, should I do it too?"

Keaton read his own poem that he wrote himself and then he read his favorite poem from a book.
Caris read her poem too!

Here we are at our lovely Valentine Tea Party. The tables were beautifully decorated. We had heart-shaped peanut butter and jelly sandwiches and hand-dipped chocolate strawberries. The kids remembered all their manners. Then the children got up and read their poems. It was simply lovely.

Here is Cashtyn listening to her big brother read.

Reading is so much fun especially when you have a "big dog" as your comfy reading chair!

Even the kitties loved the boxes!

We were going to make Cashtyn a kitty Valentine box, but changed it to love bug because she is such a love bug. She is always ready with a hug and a kiss. So, so lovable...

Kolton is in love right now with "big cats." He especially is crazy for lions. So hence, his Valentine's box had to be a lion. And we're not "lion" he did a great job.

Here is Keaton's Valentine box. He chose an alien theme this year with his Unidentified Friendly Object. He even made a spaceship for his alien to ride in.

We love making our Valentine's boxes and homemade Valentine's Day. Everyone chooses their theme and we get right to work.

Night

We listened to a lot of poetry today while drinking tea and acting very fancy during our "poetry tea time" at our school. Before bed the boys wanted to read more poetry. Then right before lights out, Keaton got up and asked for some paper and composed two poems. Only one is ready for everyone to read. It is called Night...

Night
Right now it's night
There is not a sound
Silence throughout the town
as I lay down my head and get in bed,
I hear someone cheer
"Goodnight kisses are here!"

Snow Glorious Snow

The kids had so much fun sledding and tubing at the Winter Park in New Mexico. When we first got there we had to pull over at the first snowy spot to play in. They couldn't contain themselves in the car. They loved playing in the little cabin and roasting marshmallows in the fireplace. I don't think that they wanted to come home! Maybe next year we will try skiing!

Someone Loved to Crash!

Fun in the snow!

Every child gets to go to lunch with Dad on their birthday. This is one of their favorite birthday rituals. Keaton picked Willie's Ice House for his lunch.

Birthday Lunch With Dad

Keaton had a wonderful birthday playing with his friends at Rainbow and playing in the snow.

Keaton turned nine years old!

There is snow somewhere!

We are excited and ready to find snow. We waited and waited when the weatherman said that it would snow here, but that snow never came, so we are off looking for snow!
